Dominant Replacement?

hello,

i am looking for a low to medium tension string that is as stiff and unflexible as possible.
also as bright, sustaining, responsive, and free as possible but that also can be bowed.
so far, the closest match has been a full set of dominants -
and they feel really good...
the only problem is amplifing them is a bit hard so i was hoping to find a steel string that has similar qualities.

it seems most strings have been evolving to be more flexible.
first was TI Precision (never tried), then Superflexible, then Spirocore etc.

i need the opposite.

maybe someone can suggest to me a string that has the stiff, bright, sustaining, responsive, bowable, low/medium tension qualities of dominants but is made of metal?

thanks

I love Doms but seem to experience them differently than you. I have no problem at all amplifying them and I wouldn't characterize them as bright. Certainly, they are less so than Spirocores. You seem to like the Doms as well and your only complaint is about the difficulty in amplifying them. Perhaps you could say a bit more about your setup (the bass itself, the pickup, amplifier, cab, etc.) and your overall preferences. Filling out your profile might help too. Maybe some help, advice, and pointers in terms of amplification might do the trick.

The stiffest steels are using a solid core.
Some examples:
  • La Bella 610
  • TI Precision
  • Pirastro Chromcor
  • Super-Sensitive Red Label
  • Super-Sensitive Stellar

The more bowable are the Chromcors, but they're not the brightest.
For brightness get either the LaBellas or the Super-Sensitives.
