Donate Your Used DB Strings

Hello,

I'm back again this year with the same request. After last year's incredible response, I'm again writing to the community seeking any used orchestral double bass strings that you might be willing to donate to a good cause.

My son (the bassist) and I have been working to clean up and improve the condition, sound, and playability of our school district's basses. Among other needs, many are in dire need of strings. Most are 3/4, but we have some 1/2 size basses.

If you ever discard or otherwise dispose of any sets of strings or offer them to schools as a donation, please consider contacting me. Condition is not a factor as I'm sure they would be better than what we have today.

For my part and so that you are not encumbered, I will gladly pay the shipping costs via PayPal.

My sincere thanks to anyone reading this who donated last year. We were able to upgrade 6 basses last year, but there are more to go.

Please let me know if you are interested or able to help.

Best regards,
Jim Butt

Thanks for doing this. I have some usable singles to contribute. OK to mail them to the address in your post?

Yes, I remember you. We're very grateful for your donations. We made great use of or found homes for everything we received. I'd welcome anything you can offer.

If I can cover any costs, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jim

I have a bunch you can have - do I need to label them for pitch or can you sort them out?

that's really cool that you're doing this, and a big thumbs up to anyone who contributes. I don't play double bass, so I unfortunately can't send anything.

Fantastic! As long as they are in groups of 4, we can probably figure them out. Even if they aren't, we probably can. Let me know if I owe you for shipping. My address is at the start of the thread. Thanks a ton!
