Dudes!!! King Bass Gut Strings...

I have NO affiliation with KingBass...but, go now and call KingBass, or check here http://www.myspace.com/kingdoublebass

Those who know me, know I have nothing to do with KingBass or any other builder. So I'm not even going to advertise the specifics...But, seriously, this is a killer deal.

What a terribly unusable website. Probably the worst I've ever used. I thought it might have been FireFox so I tried IE and also had no success. The background on the site made it pretty much impossible to see anything. However, I did search for "gut" on the page and couldn't find anything.

What am I missing?

You know what...just call the number on the main site.

I have mine installed. These appear to be similar to the rough Emerson guts. I put the effort into sanding them down, knotting them, and oiling. Now the set is on.

Very nice tone. Rather brighter than I'd expected...maybe all that sanding had something to do with that.

Anyway, the D and G are fab. Nice snappy tone.

The A completely sucks. It appears to be a different, lighter colored grade of gut. It's totally splintered and just as rough as anything.

No problem, because the E is in great condition, and, although a bit floppy for my liking, I can bump it over to the A. I'm going to use a Eurosonic E in its place.

So I'll be 75% gut...until I save up for a set of Gamuts or whatever.

Bumped the E over to A...very nice.
Strung up the Eurosonic E...also nice. Very musical now.
A good compromize between gut or whacker and Spirocores.
The slap is a bit more of a thud, but not as harsh as the Sprios, and you can really hear the note. Even pizz, which was a big problem with whackers and (cheap) guts.
