Evah Mix or new string advice, please!!

I love the Evah Pirazzi strings and I never thought I would look around again but here I am.... OY!

Anyway, I play a wide range of music (balkan, tango, jazz, chamber) and I need a string that sounds good both Pizz. (some sustain) and will cut through (both volume and clarity) when playing arco with a group. I have a band with accordion and I get totally buried trying to take arco solos because the EP's are so dark.

My first instinct was to change out the G+D because I like the A and E Evah so much. But I am open to the suggestions...

Help!!!!

Thanks in advance!
Brandon

It is a thought...

Spiro's are a thought, I just used to hate the tension they had on my bass.

You're using Evah Mediums? Maybe the Evah Weichs would work for you. They retain a lot of the character of the Mediums, but are much easier to deal with. Brighter and growlier, but still a nice big fundamental... and they bow beautifully.

mega

I just read the EP Weich Megathread and my interest has been piqued!

Does anybody have a gently used set they want to sell me for a reasonable price? PM me if you do!

I was also wondering about flexocors... I have never tried them. I really need a pop with the bow in the high registers.

Anybody know what Ranaan Meyer uses?

I am using the
Belcantos and like them, both for pizz and arco. Another option you might consider...

I haven't tried the EP Orchestra or Weichs yet.
Anybody here who can A/B the Evah Weichs/Bel Cantos?
