| I have an old and kind of long thread on this if you search the forums. I don't say that to be a jerk, but just because it's been a while and it's probably more accurate than my memory.
BUT, I put them on one summer when we had some sort of humidity thing that brought some unwanted tension into my bass. I really loved them. Pizz was great, friendly, easy to play and well balanced. They bowed freakishly well for me, not that I'm an expert, but I navigated them fine arco.
The humidity changed and/or I got restless to try something else and I traded them for something else, which I kind of regret. They'd be good to have around for when I need a break.
Compared to gut? Don't know about that. Certainly thinner, certainly brighter, certainly more sheep friendly. Might be similar in tension, but that's probably about it.
