Fishman Full Circle and Garbo D string?

I have put on a d garbo string on my bass and I use a fishman full circle pick up ... is it ok to clamp the metal piece which allows me to plug my 1/4 inch cable to the bottom of the garbo d string ?

I tried seeing the difference in sound with and without the clamp .. I can see a small change in sound .. but any comments would be greatful .. thank you so much ... AGAIN! ...

I'm assuming the clamp on my K&K Bass max is nearly the same as the Full Circle clamp.

If so, I had no trouble with the K&K on a set of Garbos, for over a year. The A string DID break, but it was at the point where the yellow loop conected to the winding on the lower part of the string, which was ABOVE the point where I had the pickup attached.

I have repaired it, (A string) have used it and now keep it as a spare string.
