Flexocore originals -- excellent

As a result of not being happy with the 'stock' strings, which were Thomastik Spirocores, I got some Pirastro Flexocore Originals after reading many, many posts on here. Just the A, D, & G though, due to many people saying the Flexocore E's were weak. The result is a much more responsive and warmer sound, and it takes a lot less work to achieve it. The difference is huge. I hadn't played in three months due to shoulder surgery, and I played some passages last night as if I hadn't missed any time at all. They're so easy to play and sound great. I can't wait to get back into an orchestral setting to see how they project and blend.

The Original Flexocore E is very different than the Flexocor '92 one (ruby silks).
It's fat and thick, with a huge dark tone.
For pizz it may seem too muddy though.
But it definitely doesn't have the flabbiness of the Flex '92 E.

That's interesting, I hadn't heard that. Well I can always put the Original Flex E on there later, but right now I'm very happy with my setup. Thanks!
