As good as rotosound?

Anybody know of some strings that might have about the same feel and sound as the rotosound steel core nylons but might be a little bit less expensive?

i don't have the answer but i will say that your description of rotosound's string sounds like the la bella 7710, "Deep Talkin' Bass" string...

super silvers are not a steel core, as far as i've heard, should sound pretty different, but i'm just guessing... good luck!

As far as I know of, Rotosound never have made steel core DB strings,,the discontinued Rotosound Supremes has nylon core with Monel ( mix between aluminium and chrome I guess ) flatwound wrap. The only set of DB strings they make these days is the Rs4000 Superbs which is 100% nylon for the D and G strings, and flatwound Monel on nylon core for the A and E.

Hi Peter- I think the strings you described are the Superbs and the Supremes are the nylon/perlon core with flat metal winding. Kolstein Music still has some Supremes. Best regards, Dave
