Gut g string tension ratings

Hi,
my normal set up has been spiro orchestras with varying G strings depending on the weather and my bass. I love this set up and once the Sprios are broken in you can get gutty thump out of them of you want and also tackle classical pieces which is great. Currently I am using an anima G - but have used an olive and Obligato as well. My question to all you traditional gut users is as follows:
what are the tension differences and can you recomend a gut string for me to try.
the olive felt weird after a while and really tightened up as well. I played what I think was a eudoxa on a friends bass and it felt great - silves wrapped are eudoxas right?? Whats if any is the difference between the Obligato and ther Eudoxa? anyone tried a chorda?? can you all recommend plain guts??? how do I tell the tension differences??
thanks
bassdog

I have tried plain guts, Eudoxas, and Obligatos. The Eudoxa is about right in the middle between the Obligato and what I've heard about the Oliv. More thump than an Obligato, less than an Oliv. Eudoxas get pretty tight like Olivs, though. Plain guts are way lower tension, and while I love the sound, mixed with Spiros I doubt you will dig it. You might want to try a Eudoxa, but with Spiros, I'd probably use a Spiro G and let it break in.

i calculated it out a while back according to the tensions found on the gamutstrings website.
the light plus g string which is what i have right now calcualted to (i really just converted to lbs from kilograms) and it was listed as 31.32 lbs...but only at a 38" string length...so it is tighter on my 41.5" mensure bass...not sure how much it will differ though.

i think the spirocore ratings are at 42".....i'm not sure how much the difference is.
the Eudoxa i had on my bass for a while was tighter than the Gamut gut string i have but not a whole lot.....i actually like the tension though.
