Has anyone ordered strings from quinnviolins.com?

I ordered a set of obligato's (fifths tuning) there because they were in stock and they say most items ship in 24 hours, this was Friday the 25th. I've had no word of shipping, I emailed them with no response.

I'm just wondering if this is out of the ordinary or a common thing for them - has anyone here dealt with them before?

They have outstanding customer service. Call them on the phone and I'm sure you'll get what you need.

I had a similar experience but I think it was out of the ordinary. You should call them. When I called they apologized and dealt with it immediately.

I generally prefer Quinn over the other sources.

All the time, they're great. Give Chris a call.

Well after getting home from work there was an email waiting - apparently they had network problems the past few days so no sweat.

Thanks for the input, good to know that is not an ordinary thing.

I had one kinda bad experience but Chris apologized profusely--All other orders have been perfect. I would consider them my first stop for strings--great prices, inventory and service.

Top quality service at Quinns.
I buy most of my strings there (and from Shar too).
They may be a bit slow on shipping sometimes, but not a big deal for me as parcels take about two weeks to get in Canada anyway.

I have had the best of experience buying from them. As others have suggested, write or call. Chris or someone from Quinn will respond, quickly.

Old thread or not the truth is that when I ordered some strings I waited, waited, and waited and the bloke told me that he is teaching at a school and exam time he is very busy and this online shop is just part time and he was having some issues bla bla bla! Eventually when I told him that I couldn't care less about his problems I want my strings (Garbo E,A,D) he did send me my strings apologising. I wasn't insensitive I needed those strings for a recording session. Francois had great experience I wish I could say the same.

When did that happen?
Since a few years Chris has an employee (Verbena), and service is much better. (I had some problems too but not with delays)

Chris Quinn is a super nice dude... very helpful, and I always got everything I ordered very quickly, and his prices are always reasonable, often the lowest I could find. Free shipping to Hawaii too, gotta love that. Excellent service.

I've done quite a bit of business with Quinn. For the most part, it's been very good. It was frustrating that more often than not, they did not pick up their phone, and the USPS tracking system was not very helpful either. I just stopped worrying about it. I've always received my orders, and they have been spot on for returns as well.

I had a special order of strings that I bought through Quinn and found them to be very helpful and accommodating, good experience.

I have dealt with them on ordering a bag (w shipping) and in the shop for different things. I have nothing but good experiences with them. Plus, Scott Jenson is the in house luthier there.

I like these guys a lot. At some point when I was flush, I tried tons and tons of different strings and a good chuck where from Quinn. They had good prices and were really receptive and quickly helped me when I had an issue with a bum string. I'll buy my next set of Animas from them.

Dear mates I must drop myself into the frying pan and admit that I am a #$@$#$ donkey!!! I have checked my emails and it turned out that I've made a huge mistake!!! It was another online dude by the name of Lou Roten from LNRMusic Rindge, NH, USA I had issues with NOT QV!!
So I hereby apologize to Quinn Violins!!!

I've had mostly good service from QV, an occasional delay in processing an order. Lou Roten is a decent guy, but yes, he's been guilty of unprofressionalism with his retail outlet. I've had two similar experiences to the one you described. He does offer the best prices on Velvets if you're not in a hurry though
