Have I finally found the perfect string set for my bass!?!

As crazy as it sounds, I may have found the idea strings for my bass. In the past few weeks the strings that I have on have started really agreeing with me, my playing, and the sound of the bass overall. I don't think it's a change in the bass due to weather or anything like that, as it's been pretty constant for the past few months. So, here it is:

Pirastro Permanent D/G with tone filters (great)
Evah Pirazzi A (great)
Belcanto long E (good)

One of the cool things is that initially they didn't really blend at all: they sounded distinctly different. Maybe the bass has adjusted, the strings are fully broken in, or I've adjusted my style/approach subconsciously. Whatever the case may be, they now sound great together.

I've just ordered a Permanent D & G to try on my bass.....

How do you find the tone of the 'E' Belcanto? I thought I had read that it is quite a mellow string - I'm surprised you found it good in the E position.

Are you using that combo for pizz or arco ? (or both?)

What prompted you to use the tone filters - were the Permanents too bright without?

The (long) E belcanto is good as far as it's extremely responsive to the bow. Ideally it would be louder, and that's why I labeled it as "good."

I'm using it for both pizz and arco. The strings blend well with pizz, very well with arco. I'm about 60/40 arco to pizz.

The Permanents are a bit bright when bowed on my bass. With the tone filters they're just right. At first I thought the G was a bit nasal in the lower registers, but I've since adjusted my approach to it just a bit (slightly more pressure, slighty slower bow) and it's definitely come alive.
