On the bass I'm renting right now, it came with Helicore Hybrids. I didn't care so much to bow them, so I've been doing lots of switching around with other strings I have (Pirastros, Tomastiks, Helicore Orchestras).
I have now found a really pleasing combination with Flexocores on the top 2 strings and keeping the Hybrids on the bottom 2 strings for an arco/pizz compromise.
Just thought I'd share with all of you other crazy string changers who thought as I did about the Hybrids sounding not so good with the bow
