Helicore Pizzicato

Hi! I am thinking of getting new strings for my school bass. I am currently using Flexocores for Jazz!!! Little sustain but warm sound. I can't stand the lack of sustain so I am thinking of getting Helicore Pizzicato strings.
Anyone has experience with these strings?
BTW, my string length is 42 3/4 inches and according to the string specs, the 3/4 medium tension set is meant for 41 3/4 inch string lengths.
How will this affect sustain and tension?
I have only limited string choices at the moment as my concert is coming up and the store only has Helicore Pizzicato, Hybrid and Ochestral in medium tension. For Pirastro they have Obligato, Chorda, Eudoxa and Flexocore. Velvet strings are also available but I don't think the school is gonna pay for those.

Thanks in advanced

I would wait til after the concert. If you use what's on there now, they will be stable and you're used to them.
