Help identifying this Gut string..

Hey All,
I did a rehersal on bass yesterday that had a G gut string. It had a Ball end and voilet or purple wrapping on the tail peice end and brown on the pegbox end. It felt great and I am still looking for a G gut string I really like since Kaplans aren''t made anymore
any ideas who made this paticular string??? Dlugolecki maybe??? Francois..... giveit up...what string is this??

Pirastro Eudoxa if the purple end had a white spiral on it. Pirastro Gs are brown on top.

Are you saying this was a plain gut string with a ball end and wrappings on either end? I've never seen a string like this. It may have been a Pirastro string like Olive or Eudoxa with the metal windings removed.

I've never heard of or seen a plain gut string with a ball end and wrapping either. Can you take a picture of it?

Ditto!
Maybe an Eudoxa G with the silver wrap removed?

plain gut

Plain gut - I seqr and def. NOT a eudoxa or olive. no silver wrapping ever on the string - plain think gut string - it might have been tynex wound like the kaplan golden spirals used to be...

Could be a Pirastro Pizzicato nylon wound gut. The one I have (early sample) has a black wrap at the tail end though.
