How often need to change the Obligatos?

I'm a new Obligato user, the current is my 1/2 old first set and they still sound good. Some guys says this type of strings not works as long as normal steel strings. When I used Thomastik Spirocore, they worked for me for 2-3 years. I'm curious how long more can I keep the current set on my bass.

I've had 2 sets of Obligatos, spread out over two years. When they started sounding dull and losing clarity, the Obligatos needed to be replaced. For me, that was after one year.

They don't tend to last as long as other strings, especially if you're heavy-handed. For some people, they're lucky to even get one year out of them.

I got about a year of good use out of mine. Fortunately, the new set settles quickly. ( at least compared to gut)

I think a year is a good benchmark for the D & G strings.

I was unhappy with how the E & A seemd to lose volume & punch so I went back to Spirocores on the bottom. I find the Starks a good match on my bass.

what do you think. An Evah Pirazzi set has longer life than Obligatos?
