Innovation Ultra Blacks.

I have just bought a set of Innovation Ultra Blacks---they suit me--feel good & sound good.
Two questions about them:
a) Being nylon tape wound what would you use to clean (wipe down) after use?
b)To make the string ride smoothly over the nut and bridge would a rub of graphite (a pencil) help as on steel strings? or to use wax? Any experience of either?

Just wipe them with a clean dry cloth. I use soft pencil and Chapstick in the nut and bridge slots.

Jake: I would have thought graphite would be more slippery and more long lasting than Chapstick.

Did you guys both miss the part about the soft pencil? That's graphite more or less, right?

And Chapstick is lanolin and white beeswax - what's not to like!

Jake:

I had visions of the chapstick and soft pencil graphite mixing together to create some ungodly mess!

No, you'd never know it was on there. 2B pencil in the slot, Chapstick on the string.

... what if they get pretty gunky. Would you use alcohol like a steel string?

I would test the alcohol on the string up in the peg box before committing but I don't see why not.
Let us know how it works out.

I sent innovation an email and asked them. They suggested to clean them with a very mild washing liquid on a damp cloth, then they need to be rewaxed with spray polish on a clean cloth.

Cheers
