| Jargar Dolce - Test Drive
Howdy Folks,
I finally got around to trying the Jargar Dolce. I had a small matter to attend to first .... the birth of my second son.
They sound just fabulous with the bow. Really nice. They seem to "start up" fairly quick and do not sound at all scratchy.
I like the lower tension on pizzicato and they certainly have a quicker release (less sustain).
They sound a tad too dark for my taste on this old bass however. It sounds like most of the harmonic series is damped.
Nice strings, just not my cup of tea on this 100 year old bass. I imagine that with a "brighter" bass they would be excellent.
Another string experiment for the books.
