| Kay/Oliv combo
My luthier gave me a fantastic deal on a full set of Pirastro Olivs, which I put on my blonde 1956 Kay, and it sounds incredible. I don't think I've ever heard a Kay sound great played arco, but with the Olivs, it really sings. Pizz playing sounds nice too. I'm not noticing any lack of sustain on the E and A, which I gather is the primary reason people usually use just the top 2. Anyone else had any luck with Olivs on a ply bass?
