| I have a G & D on my American Standard bass (laminate) that I have been playing on for almost 4 years. This bass only gets taken for gigs with climate controlled conditions (inside buildings).
My style is only pizz and is geared toward bluegrass. I cannot give any info about bowing on these strings and I bought them slightly used and have been well pleased.
With the Tynex overwrap on these strings, with a gut core, the unraveling issues do not occur. These strings have been semi-marketed as a replacement for the old Golden Sprials. I never had a chance to play the GS strings, so I can't give a direct comparison. I haven't tried the E or A string from this set.
As of now, these strings will stay on my bass until they break. |
