low b

any reviews of evah, belcanto or passione low b's?

if there is a thread for this already please let me know, i'm thinking about going old school flex but I am tempted on some of these new strings

need it for orchestra, opera and chamber music, so some section work and some more soloesque situations

thanks!

I have a Passione Low B/C on my 5ths bass (tuned c obviously), and it's really dark. too dark for my taste, personally. it does bow nicely though, I will definitely give it that.

I use a D'Addario B in conjunction with Flexocors on the upper 4, and it balances nicely. The Flexocor didn't have the clarity that the D'Addario has. I would be interested to see if anyone has used the strings you speak of.

i used a similar setup BGrob, but man when that daddario dies it really dies...and it isnt that great to begin with but certainly works and is a known factor vs getting into buying things i don't know about

eerbrev so its dark, but is it loud or floppy? personally i like dark but with some volume and pitch certainly
