Matching Gamut D&G with ??????

Dear Gamut People of planet DB! I am curious about what sort of E & A strings will marry with my new Gamut D & G I have ordered this morning???? At the moment I have Anima E and Garbo A with Garbo D and varnished pure gut G! I had silver wound NOS Kampfee gut E & A but the winding just deteriorated within week. Thinking of Spiro Mittel E and Garbo A or Eudoxa E & A?!? I love the Mittel but will it marry Gamut? String nightmare!

Any of those would work, including the Mittel. If it sounds good, use it!

What you have on now -- Anima E and Garbo A is a good choice. Eudoxas are fine strings, very expensive though and not very stable tuning wise. I find Olives and Eudoxas to be almost too dark sometimes. Plain gut has a kind of snap and brightness of its own. Pirastro Pizzicato is a semi-flatwound gut core string that's brighter, lots of $$ though.

My personal affordable favorite is Super Sensitive Sensicore. They are somewhat like Obligato and Evah Pirazzi (two other possibliities) with a synthetic core. Next to them I like Velvets. Innovation 140s, or Super Silvers aren't too bad either.
