Any "made in" or other markings on the package? Are they steel, or what?

I did some research and the only "Monopole" I've been able to find is a French brass and woodwind company in the early 20th Century, and a musical instrument string company in the 60s.

On Ebay I found references to some Monopole-brand ukulele strings. I'm guessing someone has resurrected the name for a line of Chinese imports.

An old brand from Picato maybe?
You can ask them and let us know!

The pack looks very sixties to me. The only other words I can make out on the pic are "Multicore" and "WALES"

Picato is a serious contender!
