| Is it above or bleow the bridge? Below, I don't see any problem, but above, obviously might be an issue with your bow... As far as I know, the core holds most if not all of the tension, so I've never worried about loose windings so long as they don't interfere with my playing. I've had loose windings on my Eudoxas a bunch of times, usually up near the nut, and they've never posed any problem other than being a little annoying. I think it happens, at least with a wound gut string, from installing and removing the string multiple times. I tend to do that a fair bit, switching to solo strings or simply experimenting with different types of strings. |
