Need a New Set of Strings, HELP !

Hello,

I have a 3/4 Plywood bass, currently I am using Hellicore HP610
Light Tension steel core strings. I am looking for a string that still has a light tension, a bright sound, clear response with lots of volume.
I mainly play bluegrass but I am looking for more of a contemporary
bass sound as oppose to the traditional dark, gut sound and suggestions would be of great help.

Thanks
John

Maybe you want to check out Velvet Animas. I've never played them myself (I do play Velvet Garbos, though.) but people around here do.

Spirocore Weichs.
What don't you like about the Helicores anyway?

This is the Pizzicato Helicore series, and one of the brightest bass string on the market already!
Maybe you just need a good setup on your instrument to get a better tone.

The Spirocore Weichs (light gauge in german) could be an alternative.
Or the Corelli tungstens (370 series).

the only thing I have against the Helicore is about after 2 weeks with them on, the D string snapped, and second I wanted to find a string that could help my bass respond a little better, I have been reading about the Corelli's 370 M I like the low tension and light gauge how ever I don't want to give up volume, I want to increase volume.
Hum ! all this with just a set of strings.... LOL

There are a few suggestions for the Thomastic Spirocore Weichs, My biggest concern with these are the string gauge, they seem heavier then the Hellicores. At the suggestion of Francosi Blais I think the real issue is I need a good set-up. The Hellicores that I am using now must be about 3 years old. I will still look into these though, With so many suggestions I can't ignore it.

Thanks
John

I was given a used set of Corelli 370 mediums by my teacher, Gerald Spaits and really like them. They are about the lightest gauge strings available, feel great and actually have good volume on MY bass. They are also very affordable. Each bass is different, so you have to experiment.
