Need a quick reply if possible

Hey everyone, hate being pushy about this but i need to get strings for my new bass,
i will be playing jazz/hiphop and want the best sounding strings etc. which on this list would be the best? http://www.thomann.de/ie/strings_for_double_basses.html

sorry i dont really know much about anything and could do with some help.

A the risk of being overly general, probably spirocore is best for most or pizz playing jazz.

any particular type of spirocore? i was looking at these

Hi Millah, those Lenzner ones are silver wrapped gut!

An expensive experiment.

If you are looking for a less metallic sound,
try the pirastro Obligatos.

If you don't know what sort of sound you want, go for the Thomastik Spirocore, soft.

Given a complete lack of information I suggest Spirocore Medium or Spirocore Soft. Of those two I prefer the medium.

Thanks, i definitely don't want a metallic sound anyway. More of a fat round sound (Ron carter etc)

Well, Ron uses LaBella Black Tape Wound Rope Core. I've never used them so no comment.

What im looking for really is nice and punchy with a warm vintage kind of tone, if that makes any sense. any ideas?
