New Strings - ZZZZZING

G and D - Flexocor
E and A - Spirocore

put these new string on a couple of days ago and i quite like the set up. seems to work pretty well for crossover playing which is what i am chasing. much better than the Helicores. god yes.

only gripe is how zingy the Spirocores are. the Flexo have settled nicely and i love read love the arco sound of these strings. but the spiros - will they settel down? can i do anything to make em settle down except play em lots? should i pick my nose and wipe it on the E and A strings?

any suggestions for less ZZZZZZZZing in my strings?

That, and play 'em a lot. Whenever I put on new spiros, I usually put a "scrunchie" (ponytail holder) around the neck right in front of the nut to tame the open strings a bit. I find that the fingered notes are not nearly as "banjolike" as the open strings.
