Newbie String Choice Help?

I can't make up my mind... Weichs or Obligatos or ...?
For jazz, mostly pizz, but getting into arco. My bass is a 30's Czech factory ply and I've been playing unknown steel strings for a while, and really like the sustain. I'm really into John Leftwich's sound on Chet Baker's "Let's Get Lost" soundtrack if anyone's familiar with that. Many thanks in advance...

Welcome

Hi and welcome to the board! I think a set of Spirocore Mediums and a perusal through the newbie links will serve you well...

Good luck!

If you've narrowed it down to two....

If I had to take one set onto a desert island (or cruise ship gig) I'd take Obligatos. Weichs are too dicey in that they either work great for you or not.
