purple color-coded strings

Hello Fellow Bassists,

If I'm doing something stupid here please forgive me--it's my first message.

I just heard Henry Grimes play. His pizz and arco sound was killer. I want to know what brand of strings he was using. They were metal and purple coded at both ends.

Purple at both ends - but with a different colour at the very end (around the pegs)?

If so, that sounds like Pirastro Original Flexicor, but if the pegbox end is solid purple right to the tip then I don't know.
