Q: Oblis going around the tuning peg

Hi all,

I've read somewhere that I should avoid the phat part of the string winding around the peg. BUT, the strings are too long for my bass then, and there is no was I can avoid this. The thick metal part winds 2 times. I gather that's normal?

Is there anything I should or can do besides forget about it and play?

Danko

My E string always wound around the peg with no problems. I even had them on and off 3 times and never had a failure.
