Replacing G string, D'addario Helicore Hybrids

I have a starter bass, a carved Roma, that came with a set of D'addario Helicore Hybrids. I was told they're a good middle-of-the-road string, suitable for both pizz and arco.

I basically like them, especially the sound of the lower three strings, but the G string is a little harsh sounding to my ears with a bow, not so bad pizz.

My thought is to replace just the G string, but with what? From a look at their web site, it looks like the Helicore Orchestral might be the way to go - any thoughts on, if I'm spending my life mostly with Simandl, if I ought to go with these, and if I ought to go with just a new G or if I ought to try a whole set?

Other: been playing electric bass and guitar for several decades, playing well enough to audition for my local community (read: volunteer) orchestra is my top priority right now, but I don't want to set up my bass so that a jazz/rock gig will be totally out of the question either.

Thanks in advance.

Steel G strings are the least expensive, so feel free to try a few of them!
The orchestral Helicore G seems indeed a logical alternative to try first.
