Rotosound RS 4000 Superb Double Bass

Anyone using these strings? RS 4000 Superb Double Bass.

I'd like to get some feedback from anyone with knowledge about them.

Thanks.
Best wishes
Gary

I use them and I like them a lot. The G and D have that old fashioned soft, plonky pizz sound. A bit llike gut I imagine but don't quote me 'cos I've never tried real gut. The A and E are overwound with metal and I don't like them as much. They're great for slap and are very easy on the fingers.

Arco, they take some getting used to, but it can be done. I used to get nothing but squeals until I had some lessons and saw that my teacher could bow them OK. It helps to lightly abrade over the section between end-of-fingerboard and the bridge.

They used to be relatively cheap too, alas no more. Definitely worth a try if you like a soft sound and feel.
