Should I remove the felt...
..."washers" strung thru each Eudoxa string between the strings end knob and the underside of the tailpiece? It seems to me that these felt "washers" dampen the vibration of the tailpiece almost like a mute on the bridge.

You'll get a little more zip without the washers, but it won't be transformational.

I see this topic has come up here before.
Every little bit helps. One string at a time, I loosened the string enough where I could pull the end ball thru the tailpiece. Then I pulled the felt up high enough to sit on top of the tailpiece when I put the ball back and retuned the string. Now I'll wait a day or two to let the strings settle down to see any difference. I can always reverse the process, and didn't or won't have to unwind the entire string at the top or cut the felt.
