slight rant re: used strings

I am the person who was called out by Buddy for selling used obligatos. He publically posted write under my add that he thought this was too high of an asking price. Now the strings in question WERE on my bass for about three hours - and I stated this. In all fairness to myself I was selling them for $30 under what I paid for them. I have since lowered the price even more. What I didnt appreciate was the nerve of this person publically calling my sale a rip off. A private message would have been just fine or just dont buy the strings. But Buddy felt the need to publically call me out on the price he didnt agree with. I changed the price as per his advice and upon discovering Upton bass sold the strings much cheaper than i bought them for. I very nicely asked Buddy to please DELETE his message since my price had been edited and it was making my ad look poor. He didnt delete it and just wrote another thread under it explaining his actions. Long story short I just deleted the whole damn thread and started over.
at the end of the day I dont care all that much but I would have rather had the courtesy of a private message. community or not it would have been a little nicer

That's right Andrew,
public humiliation of a seller is totally unnecessary, whatever the reason...that's what private messages are for. I am sorry you had to go through this, that would have annoyed the hell out of me.

By the way, I'm selling a set of slightly used Pirastro Jazzers for $300. Any takers?

OK, that *was* a joke
but definitely not as good as George Mraz' underwear for sale. That has been unmatched so far on this forum.
