Solo strings

Ok so I figured I would give this a shot. I'm currently studying bass in college and as many of you know most of the classical solos on would play requires solo strings. I'd like to not ruin my bass by simply tuning my current orchestrals up a whole step and also can't afford a new set of solos. So I'm asking if anyone would be willing to spare an old/extra/disliked set. Locally I can pick up and other than that I'll cover any shipping cost.

I'm just looking for something to play on and I figured there was no harm in asking. I apologize if this is an inappropriate post.

If you search, you can find orchestral tuning piano parts for pretty much everything. Solo strings are a hassle and your orchestral tone will suffer from using them. Try www.douglasmappmusic.com for piano parts.

If these are still available, you'd be getting them for half of what they go for new: Pirastro Permanent solo tuning strings for sale

I'll check out the orchestral tuning piano parts for now I guess. I'll buy a fresh set for myself sometime to see how I like them. I'm more or less just looking to try some out. I doubt I'll be playing much solo classical music after my schooling anyway. Thanks for the help though!
