solo tuning gut

Can anyone explain to me why there aren't any solo tuning gut strings? Or are there any that could be tuned up.

Some gut strings are sold in gauges. (Eudoxas, among others, even if you seldom see the gauges listed on retailer's catalogs)
You get the thin gauge for solo tuning.
With steel strings, this is the same thing with Jargars, which are sold in gauges only. The Dolce is thin enough for solo tuning.
One reason they make special sets for solo tuning with steel strings is that steel doesn't recover well from over-stretching.
Gut is more elastic.
The tension may also be too high with steel strings tuned up a whole step if the gauge/weight of the string is too big.
