Some like Eudoxa...

Hi guys,

On my main bass I'm using Spriocore Orchestra E and A with Eudoxa D and G. For the most part I like them, although the Eudoxa's are still a little hard to play. They bow great, sound hudge with good definition for jazz, and actually stay in tune...in doors. When it's humid during an outdoor gig, they are totally impossible to play.

On my plywood outdoor bass, I have been using Sprios and Obligatos, which do stay in tune. However, the feel is so different from my Eudoxa bass, it's hard to make the switch.

Anyone know of a good string that is less affected by humidity but still big sounding and think gauge, like a Eudoxa?

Thanks,
Brian

I have played Pirastro Permanent on my teachers bass, and while the E and A were nice the D and G were bright and tinny. I would second Ray's suggestion...the Dominant have close to the feel of Eudoxa with none of the intonation issues you have with gut strings.
