Spirocore E breaking at peg

I was tuning up the E after adjusting the bridge yesterday and BAM. Looks like the windings let go either at the peg or at any rate in the pegbox. This ever happened to anyone? ... cuz it's never happened to me before. The set's about 6 months old, and of course the Spiros are indestructible - on the other hand, I might have had the string binding against the edge of the box, I'm not sure. Would that be enough pressure to snap it? Anyone want to call the odds of getting a comp replacement?

And if anyone's got a spare Mittel E, see my thread in the 'Wanted' forum. thx.

Probably pinched it.

Yes, you probably pinched it against the cheek of the peg box.
