Spirocore rattle

Has anyone had any troubles with spirocore strings making a metallic rattling sound?

I have this noticable rattling which sounds like its right at the bridge on a solo A tuned to orchestral and a weich E, but no problems on the upper strings.

Ive examined the bridge slots but they seem to be fine. Ive noticed some posts on here in the past about a strange rattling sound, and was wondering if theres any more experiences.

My first reaction is take it to a luthier and get your setup checked out. The only time I have ever heard rattling from the string itself is with brand new Superflexibles, but as they break in it goes away completely.

Don't know if you found the problem yet but I thought someone once mentioned that this sort of thing can happen if there is a bit of a twist in the string somewhere between the bridge and the peg. May be worth letting the string down and making sure that it is on as perfectly straight as possible.

Hey, What do I know

I had an almost imperceptible kink in a Mittel G once that caused buzzing. I had to replace the string. Buzzing went away after that.

Yes, it happens. There's a broken winding somewhere inside that string. The only fix is to replace it.

Actually youre probably all right!

I have one of those marvin wire tailpieces and the afterlengths like to twist which puts a kink in the string. Letting the tension off and straightening the string helps but its still there.

Along with some other buzz that sounds like its coming from the endblock.
