Borrowed a really nice orchestral bass recently on tour in France with strings that I've never seen. Don't remember the colours inside the peg box but the bottom silks were mostly solid black with a tiny patch of solid red at the end. Really nice bowing string, quite bright until I got used to them. For pizz, long sustain (almost spiro-like) and quite growly. Anyone got any ideas what they are?
