| String identification (again)
Sorry...
I did a search but I'm too tired and lazy to wade through the results right now.
My bass is in the shop for a new board and bridge so I'm playing a loaner this week. It's a German Hofner, vintage unknown, carved, blond, gamba corners, good setup, doesn't look like anything special but, damn, this thing sounds pretty good. I've used nothing but Spiro orchs for years, I don't recognize the strings on this bass. The tails are dark green with a yellow spiral thread. What are they, Helicores of some sort?
