String Suggestion/Swap

Hello all you string lovers out there. Just wondering if anyone has anything to throw into the pot when it comes to suggestions. I have been using Dominants for a little while and while I do enjoy them, I'd like to see if something more comfortable works for me. I need something loud that I can bow the hell out of. Or if you have a suggestion for a better lower half for my set of strings (AKA a E and A that go well with a Dominant D & G)
I have heard excellent things about the Permanents, Bel Cantos, Flat Chromesteels and Corellis. My favorite bass sounds are Jimmy Garrison, Mark Dresser, Greg Cohen and Richard Davis.

Now the survey:

1. What are you using the bass for: 60% pizz/40% arco Mostly play Free Jazz, Bluegrass, Contemporary Classical, Yiddish Music and Blues.

2. What kind of sound are you looking for: I have a super improved '64 kay and I would like it to be as loud and sustainy as possible.

3. What kind of feel are you looking for: Anything but VERY high tension.

4. What strings have you used in the past and what did you like/dislike about them: My favorite strings that I have used have been dominants, they feel and sound very good and powerful, but the E is a little flabby and cannot take the beating that I put into it sometimes. I also liked the obligatos, though not as much as the doms. Evahs not as much as the Oblis. Tried Heliocores and Flexicores and hated them on my bass, and tried Spiros and don't like or dislike them.

Thank you.

And if any of you HAVE some of these strings that I could swap/buy please let me know as well.

Mmmm.
Loud and sustainy probably excludes most orchestral strings.
Ever tried Velvets ?
The Compas 180s have a flat winding and can be bowed without any problem.

re Heliocores, did you try the orchestral variety? I found the pizz and especially the hybrid Helis underwhelming, but the dedicated bowing strings are also *very* useful for a powerful, defined and singing pizz.

Yeah, the Heliocore orchestras were very tight and quiet on my bass. Not very likable on my instrument
