String Suggestions for more nimble solo playing? For a high C?

I've been playing with Helicore Orchestral Heavies for the last 10 years and love the dark tone, but now that I'm playing more folk/improvisational music in thumb position & beyond, I'm finding the thick high tension strings to be slowing me down.

Does anyone have suggestions for some more nimble strings that still have a dark tone? I'm looking for arco string with good bow response.

I've also been experimenting with a five string bass with a high C and with a four string piccolo bass tuned C-G-D-A. Does anyone have suggestions for a nice dark high C, or a nice 5 string set?

I don't have any experience playing on the them myself, but Corelli mighy be what you're looking for. There really thin and loud for their dimensions.

I just swapped some Spirocore Weich's for a set of Corelli 370M. I like the change, they're much easier to play up high. I perhaps should have gone for higher tension, the Weich's were about right for my bass, but even so the Corellis are nice. Also less scratchy under the bow.

I wouldn't call the Corellis dark though.
What about Flexocors?
A high C is available, and the regular strings (EADG) in three gauges.

Belcantos are very dark and very easy to play.
