Some of you may have seen my Double Bass String Survey -- it was largely created from input from the 2xbass list, in 1997 and then updated in 1999. The results of that info has been posted and continues to be available at

I get a lot of inquiries and kind notes about it -- but more strings have entered the market, and more bassists are now on the net. So it was time for an update-- and an overhaul, since email responses were messy and took a lot of time to distill.
I have created a new survey site at
http://www.eclecticbass.com/stringsurvey.html that has selections as well as opportunities for subjective text entry. This survey has not yet been announced anywhere else; I just posted the page and will appreciate your comments. It will still be a huge job to compile and publish the info on the web, but I hope it will be infinitely more valuable.
