Strings Broken??

Ok so the damage is : Everytime I tried to tune up my D string what happened was, the string started to unravel a bit rather than actually tune up. Has anyone else had the same experience? Is my string gone for good or is there anything else I can do to fix it? I play velvet animas if it helps. Cheers!

sounds like it's pinching somewhere - where does it start to unravel? likely spots would be the bridge or the nut. likely cause would be that the saddle isn't wide enough for the string or that the slot is out of round.
what kind of strings are you using?

Unravel? Sounds like it broke. I had an Anima A in which one of the windings broke and the whole mess just unravels. Sounds like it's a goner. How long have you had it? Velvet might be interested in it. I tooks some photos of my A string for them and they offered a replacement but I haven't taken them up on it yet.
