Strings for Kay Baby Bass

I have a vintage Kay Baby bass that has the original setup for strings.
I would like to replace them. but would like to know what type of strings to use.

Since this is basically a cello, I'd suggest something like:
(all 4/4 size cello strings)

E: a light gauge (weich) C

A: a light gauge G

D: a regular gauge D

G: a regular of heavy gauge A

I'm selling a Kay Baby Bass in the TalkBass Classifieds and have been given a question I can't answer!

What are the options for strings (brand / type) and can it be strung with std Bass strings?

Any help would be appreciated....................

If it is a 1/4 size (around 35-36" scale length; see my sizing page at http://www.gollihur.com/kkbass/FAQ-size.html; the scale length matters most) you can use 1/4 size bass strings. Not a lot of mfrs. make them, but Corelli (90cm) and D'Addario Helicore are two I can recommend off the top of my head.
