are these Spirocore's Weich???

I just got a set of used Spirocores
But these ones have brass ball ends
All my other Spiro's have aluminum with I , II, III and IV stamped

These have no stamps with red thread at the ball and a light blue or turquoise at the peg. They also feel much heavier than my present Spirocore Weich's and my weich's have purple thread at the pegs

Thank you

Weichs would be stamped at the ball end and purple at the top.

The strings you describe could be Jargar Forte.

Definitely not Spirocores!

Those are indeed Jargar Fortes, as ctxbass suggested!

Adam, Francois et al - I'm the original culprit here - I don't use spirocores and was told that that was they were on the bass when I got it (I took them off almost immediately). And I've never used Jargars either. So...

Obviously there was no intention to deceive or mislead, just my ignorance
- or gullibility. If Bijoux or anyone else on the thread needs something made right, I'll certainly try and help, but that's what I thought at the time I sold them.

As a further update to the great string mystery, I was the seller who shipped these strings to RVL in Japan, also believing these were Spirocores. I also hadn't played Spirocores or Jargars, and neither had the TBer who sold them to me... so it was a trainwreck all round!

Anyway, the strings came back to me and have since been sold on at a more realistic price as the Jargar Fortes that we now know them to be. All affected parties have had been made good financially, and I'd like to publicly thank LouisF for his exceptional understanding and generosity in helping that happen. The man is a gentleman of the old school.

So, that's that settled!

Cheers,

Tony

The school isn't THAT old -- but thank you!
