Question Thinkness of Strings

I am not quite understand about the thinkness of Strings. For example, the Flexocor of Pirastro. There are thick, medium and thin. What are the differences between them? And which of them would work the best? Thank you for help.

Thickness is the diameter of the strings.
Thicker strings have more weight, so they have more tension than a lighter string, for a given pitch.

Thicker strings are likely to give more volume and sustain, and a brighter tone, although this isn't an absolute rule. They may be also harder to play.

What are you looking for?

Regards,
François

With Pirastros, "thick" are the thickest, "thin" are the thinnest and I find that their "mediums" tend to be in between.

Hope that helps.
