tips for attaching new strings

I just bought (ordered) a set of D'Addario Zyex strings. i have never put strings on a bass before. it seems pretty straightforward, but i wouldn't want to trash them by doing something stupid.

i would appreciate any advice about what to do and not to do when putting them on.

i would also be interested to hear if anyone has thoughts on these strings. i bought them hoping i would be able to play jazz and classical. i use gut strings now on D and G. i have become tired of hearing the sound of my bow on them.

please respond here or to my email at: hankhirsh@hotmail.com

thanks a lot.

70% of tone is in your fingers. The other 30% is in your other fingers.
