Trying something new (for me)

I've been using Helicore for the last 12 years (the whole time I've been playing DB). But, after hearing about many liking the Obligato strings, I'm giving it a try. I'm mainly a jazz player, but do the occasional chamber gig and practice often with the bow.
I have a chamber gig this week. Should I hold off on changing to the Obli's? I read so much on the string stickies, I can't remember if anyone mentioned the break in time for these!
I'd like to try the Oliv or Eudoxa, but I can't do it. I'm too cheap! I'm sure I will someday, but those suckers are a little rich for my taste.

Obligatos take a few days to stretch and become stable. Around 3 days, I'd say.
