Wanna start a string buying co-op?

With a little planning I bet we could pool our funds and get volume discounts on strings. For example there may be a pool for those who buy OBLIGATO and plan to get them in the FIRST QUARTER of each year. We select a dealer, make a list of those who are in the pool, and ask for the best price on that number of sets. Then we set a purchase date and everybody must pay by that time. There may or may not be a pool administrator to collect the money and distribute the strings, or we could leave it up to the dealer. Imagine how much we could save if the pool bought 50 sets at once.

If this already exists, please point me to it! If not, who's in?

That sounds like a good idea.... Perhaps a group buy is what you're saying?

I'm up for some Tomastik Spriocore Solo's in the future...

Buying co-op

Sounds good to me. I know there are places on the net you can buy in bulk , but they are the non labeled strings sold in bags (packaged straight not wound- good idea).
I would do it if there are enough guys.
